Description

About product

The SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter SE5700H-USMNUBL75 is a 5,760W single-phase hybrid inverter designed for residential solar-plus-storage systems on standard 240V split-phase service. As a SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter, the SE5700H-US manages PV production, battery charging and discharging, home backup operation, EV charging, and smart load control through a single USA-manufactured unit — making it eligible for domestic content percentage toward the enhanced federal investment tax credit.

Note: Home backup operation requires the SolarEdge Backup Interface, purchased separately, plus a compatible firmware version upgrade. Backup rated power of 12,500W applies only at ambient temperatures up to 86°F (30°C) and only in single-inverter installations; above 86°F or in multi-inverter setups, maximum standalone power is 11,400W.

Hybrid architecture: one inverter, four energy functions

The SE5700H-US integrates PV conversion, battery charge/discharge management, grid-tied export, and backup power generation into a single inverter — replacing what would otherwise require a separate string inverter, battery inverter, and transfer switch. On grid, it draws from PV first, charges the SolarEdge Home Battery from surplus generation, and exports the remainder. On backup, it islands from the grid and powers the home from battery and any available PV simultaneously, with enough surge capacity (106A LRA) to start central air conditioning compressors and other high-inrush loads without a separate soft-starter.

Battery storage and smart energy management

The inverter connects directly to up to three SolarEdge Home Battery 400V units across two DC battery ports, supporting up to 12,500W of continuous charge or discharge power. Battery dispatch is managed automatically by the SolarEdge energy manager — optimizing self-consumption, time-of-use arbitrage, or backup reserve depending on the homeowner’s configured priority. The embedded Power Control System (PCS) monitors total home consumption and can limit export or import to avoid main panel upgrades on systems where the service capacity would otherwise be a sizing constraint. EV charging integrates directly through the SolarEdge Home EV Charger connection, and additional smart energy devices connect via the optional SolarEdge Home Network plugin.

Module-level monitoring and metering

When paired with SolarEdge power optimizers, the SE5700H-US provides panel-level PV production data alongside battery state-of-charge and home self-consumption figures — all accessible through the SolarEdge monitoring platform. Revenue-grade production metering to ANSI C12.20 Class 0.5 is embedded in every unit; no separate revenue meter is required for production reporting. Consumption metering requires separately ordered current transformers (SECT-SPL-225A-T-20 or SEACT1250-400NA-20), which clip around the service entrance conductors.

Safety: rapid shutdown, AFCI, and UL 9540

NEC 690.12-compliant DC voltage rapid shutdown covers both the PV array and the battery — a requirement that some competing hybrid inverters handle only for PV. Integrated AFCI per UL1699B detects arc faults on the DC side before they can propagate. The unit is listed to ANSI/CAN/UL 9540 (Ed. 3), which governs integration of inverters with battery systems and control equipment — the certification increasingly required by AHJs for permit approval of storage installations. UL1741SB certification covers advanced grid-support functions required for Rule 21 smart inverter compliance in California.

Residential application scenarios

  • Solar storage, self-consumption optimization: sized for mid-range residential systems; 200% DC oversizing allows larger panel arrays without adding a second inverter, maximizing morning and afternoon shoulder production
  • Home backup with essential loads or whole-home coverage: with the Backup Interface and up to three Home Batteries, the system can power essential circuits or a whole home during outages — and can start central HVAC compressors during backup thanks to 106A LRA capacity
  • Time-of-use rate management: the SolarEdge energy manager charges batteries during low-rate periods and discharges during peak-rate periods, reducing utility bills without manual intervention
  • EV charging integration: direct connection to the SolarEdge Home EV Charger enables solar-prioritized EV charging managed within the same energy platform
  • California Rule 21 and Hawaii Rule 14H interconnection: UL1741SA and UL1741SB certifications satisfy advanced inverter requirements for utility interconnection in both states without additional equipment
  • Domestic content ITC adder eligibility: USA-manufactured unit qualifies for domestic content percentage toward the enhanced federal investment tax credit — verify current eligibility with the SolarEdge Domestic Content application note

System compatibility

The SE5700H-US requires SolarEdge power optimizers on every PV panel and is not compatible with conventional string or microinverter configurations. It accepts PV input across three DC ports (14–6 AWG, 1″ maximum conduit) and battery input across two ports from SolarEdge Home Battery 400V units only — third-party batteries are not supported. AC and EV charger output wiring accepts 14–4 AWG in 1″ maximum conduit. Communication interfaces include RS485, Ethernet, and integrated Wi-Fi (external antenna included); cellular is available as a separately purchased data plan option, and the SolarEdge Home Network plugin (ENET-HBNP-01) for smart device integration is purchased separately. The inverter commissions via the SolarEdge Go mobile application over the built-in Wi-Fi access point. The Power Control System (PCS) meter is supported on part numbers USExxxH-USMNxx7x and USE11400H-USSKBEZ8 — verify suffix compatibility before specifying PCS functionality.

Why choose the SolarEdge SE5700H-USMNUBL75?

The SE5700H-USMNUBL75 consolidates PV inversion, battery management, backup transfer, consumption metering, and smart load control into a single NEMA 4X enclosure with embedded revenue-grade metering — functions that would require three to four separate devices from most competing platforms. Its USA-manufactured status opens the domestic content ITC adder that import-only competitors cannot access. For installers, the integrated AC, DC, and communication connection unit and the single part number across all power classes reduce the number of SKUs to manage across a residential project pipeline.
